Usage
There are two parts to Keyboard Cues (1) the Switcher Window and (2) the Standard Keyboard Expander.
To activate the Switcher Window
Hold down the Command (‚åò) Key and type the TAB key.
On the screen you will see a window appear. This is the Keyboard Cues Switcher Window.
In the window is a list of the currently running applications.
The current foreground application's name is hilited in the list.
While keeping the Command Key held down typing the tab key again will select the next application in the list. Now if you lift your finger off the Command Key the Switcher Window will disappear and the application last selected in the list will be brought to the front.
Remember: To keep the Switcher Window open keep the Command Key held down.
At the bottom of the window is a checkbox labeled “Automatically Hide other applications when switching” if this is checked when you switch applications any background applications will be automatically hidden.
While the Switcher Window is open a number of keyboard commands are available:
Type the key indicated to generate the listed action:
Key Action
- Hides all background applications
+ Shows all background applications
/ Toggles visibility of the currently selected
application in the list.
Shift Toggles the “Auto Hide Other Applications when
Switching” feature.
If you open the Keyboard Cues control panel you’ll see a few options for the Switcher Window.
If you enable “Select Previous Foreground Application” the application you were last using will be automatically selected in the the Switcher Window list when you activate it.
Example: If were using MacWrite and you switched to Finder then activated the Switcher Window MacWrite would be hilited in the application list. So then taking your finger off the Command key would automatically bring MacWrite to the front.
If you turn on the Full Window option the next time you use the Switcher Window you’ll be presented with a larger window.
This expanded view simply gives you access to some of the keyboard commands (hide, show) via buttons. It also shows free memory for the current application selected in the list. The default is Small Display.

Shareware Fee = $10 + Feedback
Keep Shareware alive! MANY hours of work went into creating Keyboard Cues and I'd really appreciate some reimbursement for all my effort so..... $10 ( or whatever you think its worth) would be great. Just drop it into an envelope. Easy. And by doing so you’ll be encouraging me and other programmer to write quality Shareware!
And why not tell me what you think of Keyboard Cues and what you think could make it better. You can’t write good software in a vacuum, so I'd love to know how YOU (the user) think i could make Keyboard Cues better (even if your not going to register i would still love to know what you think). My E-Mail and postal addresses are at the beginning of this text.
